Worship is a joyful time of gathering in community to renew our faith and learn from God’s word and each other, sharing the Eucharistic meal before being sent into the world in service. Salem’s worship is grounded in our Lutheran faith and also includes contemporary, inclusive, and social justice sensitive liturgy components.

The word of God is received in ways that are unique to each person and their context. We encourage everyone to listen to God’s voice for themselves. The liturgy, prayers, and hymns echo the themes for the day and great thought is given to how our worship can lift and inspire the ways we serve others and live our lives. We regularly use inclusive language which affirms the belief that God is a mystery greater than a single gender can express.

Worship is at 10:30 AM with Communion served on 1st and 3rd Sundays

1st Sundays are generally more liturgical and formal. 2nd & 3rd Sundays are more blended with more contemporary language. Every 4th Sunday is our “Roots & Wings” Bluegrass worship, complete with our own Bluegrass band. Our sanctuary choir sings on the 1st and 3rd Sundays throughout the year and sings only occasionally during the summer.
